Tax Net: ‘Taxpayers double in a year’

SARGODHA: The number of tax payers in Sargodha region has increased from 16,667 to 32,345, a rise of 94 per cent, over the last year, Chief Commissioner Income Tax Dr Irshad Ahmed Khan said on Monday.

He was speaking to the media at the Regional Tax Office.  He said the department had so far collected Rs2,045,000,000 taxes during the fiscal year 2011-12.
