Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Saturday took a jibe at Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and said that revolution is only possible with the support of the masses, adding that “these new entrants in politics do not have people’s support”.
“Some parties came to power through crutches but they were washed away because they did not have roots in the masses,” the prime minister told a public gathering in Sargodha.
He said all the major political parties, including the PML-Q, the ANP and the MQM were co-operating with the PPP. “It is our power that we are going along with all the parties through reconciliation,” he added.
In an apparent reference to PTI, Gilani said that other political parties were misguiding the people. “The new political parties do not have any concrete programme and manifestos,” he said. “We’re committed people and will remain with you in the future as well,” he added.
Development projects
The prime minister highlighted his government’s contribution to the city’s development.
“Rs3.5 billion worth of electricity and gas projects have been completed in Sargodha by the present government,” Gilani said.
Over 100,000 people are benefiting from electricity provided to 1,123 villages while another 330,000 people are benefiting from 115 gas projects, the premier said.
He also announced upgrading the city’s under-construction medical college into a teaching hospital, opening regional offices of Sui gas and income tax departments and training the city’s unemployed youth through the national vocational and technical training commission (Navtec).
Gilani said the government has abolished export duty on kinno, to enhance the export of kinno from Sargodha to Indonesia. The government has also announced reduction in duty on tractors for the benefit of farmers, he added.

I actually agree with Gillani. PPP does have a clear manifesto and policy on Pakistan. The policy is to pillage and loot the country and they seem to be sticking to it quite well.
So Mr. PM do you call 'roti kapra aur makaan' a manifesto. Ironic that these monarchies in the name of parties are saying things like these.
The PM is right, PPP manifesto is clear... there is nothing on it, its blank...
All the old parties are in power one way or the other so there is no real opposition in Pakistani politics these days. PTI is the only voice of both silent and vocal majority of Pakistan. The people living in rural areas are more sensible and they have silently chosen Imran Khan to be their leader. Please refer to PTI menifesto is available on insaf.pk,
PM ji jaan deo... PTI nu aan deo....
PTI rocks.
@ALI ...Mr. PM is right. PPP does have a clear manifesto............ Of looting to Destry every single national asset and to build a new world level record in corruption.
What else is he expected to say ? Do you expect him to say yes we are making a fool of you the people in the name of democracy and if we can not hold onto power, we like the others, will be far far away.
Prime minister is absolutely right. The party to which he is pointing is just a mob of people and do not have a serious politician. Even its leader does not know what he want to do if come in power. If Pakistan has to survive, only the secular parties like PPP and ANP has the solutions.
Look, who is talking about Manifestos. lolz
gilani speaks the truth! ppp has given great sacrifices from democracy and country... pti is just a collection of oppurtunists and wannabe politicians who will scatter at the first sign of trouble.... burger mom dads in blogosphere media and young impressionable pti supporters dont have guts to go to jail for their cause.
imran khan is a simpleton and a talking head singing songs about simple solutions to complex problems which appeal to other simpletons who think the solutions are that simple. he will be easily manipulated by the people claiming to back him.
jivay bhutto! jivay ppp! jiay pakistan!
@Ali Only having a manifesto is not enough. You have to fulfill that manifesto. They have been in power for 4 years and we can all see the mess we are in.
And what manifesto do you have Mr. Gilani? corruption, hypocrisy, corruption, and mis-governance... you and your cronies didn't even leave the sacred institution of Hajj and even took commissions on that.
What have PPP, PMLN, PMLQ, ANP, MMA and others given to the masses for all the times they have ruled the country??? poverty, insecurity, lawlessness, inflation, and more poverty...
Seriously the "Parties with Great MENIFESTOS" have brought Pakistan to this juncture today. Let us try one without a "Clear Menifesto"... :)
PTI is a party full of rag tag thugs , at least i don't want any thug to get elected in my constituency, PTI has no manifesto, no clear stance no FUTURE
Since 1947 so called Pakistan is moving in wrong direction; that have been brought bundle of crisis that the middle and lower community facing since long. While every new So Called Government comes and fool the Nation by the name of national and other interest along with supporting institutions. The graph of corruption and socio-economic crisis is growing up day by day. While, the Government is busy in struggling for increasing vote bank, warfare with institution, political rivals and seeking support from international community. Every day new unnecessary issues, political statements and media warfare news are being created with new political agenda and fooling the nation by the name of nation. From the last 3-4 years until now NO new developmental plan, any news social-economic development plan, no real interest issue, hospital, public health/service centers, industrial zone, school and college/university or institution, road and infrastructure, job creation center, any new developmental scheme, any new memorandum/agreement with neighboring countries, Business plan, investment plan, foreign delegation meeting, restructuring institutional issues, honestly implementation of Pak constitution, any change in the foreign policy based on ground realities and integrity, insurance of justice and eradication of institutional corruption, any youth related issue and the utmost energy issues etc came to the front except unnecessary, stupid and self created and media exaggerated issues. If such a situation prevailing in Pak from 1947 till yet……It means Pak is fail and not being able to construct Pakistan, its Integrity and identity as a prosperous nation or democratic form of Govt. is totally fail in Pak to move in the right direction. The Supreme Court must take notice of the poorest performance and ban stupid media statement and political warfare of political puppets or so called ministers. Further the so called Nation must ask and should take a notice of being ignored since long and just being use/fool for voting. No choice either we have to stand up against such self created situations or wait until death. But Significant change even then.
@Amin: this is not cricket, it's polticis.
The current coaliton parties have deep roots among the masses. They are not terrorist supporters and are time tested for their secular policies. The silent majority is going to support them once again in the next elections. Large majority of Pakistanis live in villages and are not from burger generation.
which people he talks about... i would like to know..
Valid Point!
