NBP edge past Wapda in Gold Cup Hockey

KARACHI: Striker Yasir Shabbir scored a brace as the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) claimed their second victory at the Quaid-i-Azam Gold Cup Hockey Tournament edging out Wapda 4-3 at the Hockey Club of Pakistan.

Shabbir, who overshadowed Sohail Abbas’ fine show of two goals for Wapda in the clash, was named man of the match.

In another match, Port Qasim Authority defeated Punjab 4-2 while Habib Bank Limited picked up maximum points after defeating Customs 5-3 with Rana Zubair and Abdul Qayyum scoring two goals each.
