“I have submitted my documents to the party for the upcoming senate elections,” she told The Express Tribune.
After having stayed away from the political realm for almost seven years, Begum Naseem Wali who is also the widow of Wali Khan said that she took the decision in view of the current political milieu. “ANP is my party, I will live and die with it,” she said, adding she had informed the party that she was ready to contest senate elections.
“I am pretty sure they will allow me (to contest),” she said.
Begum Naseem Wali, was a former head of the ANP provincial Chapter. She ‘kept away’ from politics after changes at the highest level of the party in 2005.
Sources within ANP confirmed that Begum Naseem had submitted the fee for the senate ticket along with other necessary documents.
