Tragedy in the Margallas (V)

July 29, 2010

KARACHI: Six members of the youth parliament of Pakistan lost their lives in the Airblue plane crash on July 28. The loss of so many young and talented people is something that a country like Pakistan can ill-afford.

May Allah rest their souls in peace.

I would appeal to the government to announce July 28 as Pakistan Youth Day in memory of the six who died.

It was a despicable act to make derogatory remarks like this on someone's coffin.....first the parents and friends have lost a loved one, and then their pain is heightened by defacing the coffin in this manner. But I feel there is hope for the future in that the Youth Parliament, leaders of tomorrow, "strongly condemned" this. An inquiry should be held as to how this shameful act was allowed to happen.
