Language And Culture: Remembering the saints

KARACHI: Sindhi is one of the oldest languages in the world, said Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah. “We have a glorious culture and history.” While talking to participants at the International Shah Latif Literary Conference on Wednesday he said that Sindh was the land of saints including Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and  Sachal Sarmast. He added that they preached brotherhood, solidarity and tolerance. According to Shah, it was important to spread Latif’s message as he wrote about language, culture and civilization. He said that he was impressed with the number of intellectuals who attended Bhitai’s urs. Sindh Culture Minister Sassui Palijo was also there.
