Maqsood Shah, an administrator at a hospital, was nabbed in Malir cantonment as he strolled in while wearing the uniform of a lieutenant general, said SP Ghulam Subhani of the Anti-Violent Crime Cell at a press conference on Thursday.
“He didn’t spare anyone. He called up provincial ministers, MQM leaders and Local Government Minister Agha Siraj Durrani, claiming that he was a general and that he should be obliged,” he said.
The police have confiscated an AK-47 rifle, a Blackberry and a car from Shah’s possession.
“Shah called up Durrani, saying he was a General Imtiaz. Then he went on to pressure the local government minister on selling land adjacent to the hospital at a discounted price.”
The imposter even claimed that he would soon be the commander of the 5 corps Headquarters, Subhani said.
Using the name of General Imtiaz, he forced an income tax officer to refund Rs180,000 that the hospital had paid. He even expressed grief over the demise of Pir Pagara, pretending to be a general.

They were two, one he who did as general & another as brig who is now on run I think.
Its good that he got caught, nw the generals can imagine their own power a little better .. and think, why not we use our powers ???
@Amjad: accountability only cause the man was caught as being fake and a nobody. Would a real politician/ general/ landowner/ industrialist etc etc be subjecte to such treatment.
so if a fake general can do it then think of a genuine general.
Now, let's see what will happen next. He should not be disappear from media news till his punishment.
good start now catch real corrupt generals.
Expect the unexpected. Yes it is Pakistan :-)
General Robin Hood more like it!
The uniform in the picture is of a Brigadier not a Lt. Gen.
Fake generals cannot force politicians for favors. Only Real Generals Can!
@Disco: It goes to show that there is at least some accountability in Pakistan compared to most Muslim nations where criminals would get away with no one to answer to.
Ahahahahahhahahahahah! this is too much!
I bet he was only caught when someone from his home informed the police , that he is faking it. Police going after a General, in this land of pure is a precedent , yet to achieve.
