Project concerns Pakistan and Iran only and no hindrance should be allowed in the project.

ISLAMABAD: Former Secretary Petroleum Dr Gulfraz Ahmed said that the current energy crisis has no sign of abating until the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project is completed due to a general lack of cost effective alternatives. He remarked that the project concerns Pakistan and Iran only and no hindrance should be allowed in the project. Responding to a question, he said that India had withdrawn from the project due a civil nuclear programme agreement with the US. “We should also pursue Turkmenistan gas pipeline project because after ten years Pakistan will need more energy,” he added.
