A middle-aged woman was electrocuted in Bagra village on Tuesday. Police said a farmer had set up an electrified barbwire fence around his sugarcane crop to protect it from wild boars and thieves.
Unaware that the fence was electrified, Anwar Jan, 45, accidently touched the fence and was electrocuted.
A local spotted the woman’s body and the police shifted it to DHQ hospital and informed the family. Locals said the farmer would only electrify the fence at night and must have forgotten to disconnect the power supply. Police registered a case.
