SIALKOT: Special assistant to the chief minister Mansha Allah Butt has taken serious notice of open manholes in the district. Butt recently warned concerned officials of the Sialkot Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) that stern legal action would be taken against them if any mishap was reported in this regard. Addressing a meeting of TMA officials on Tuesday, he expressed grave concern over several reports about children having been killed after falling into uncovered ditches. “Uncovered drains pose a serious life threat and the administration needs to deal with this as soon as possible,” he said. He warned the TMA officials to ensure the early capping of all open manholes and warned them stern legal action if they failed to do so.
