JAMRUD: Strict action was taken against irregularities and bribe-taking culture at Takhta Baig check post in Khyber Agency. Political Agent Mutahir Zeb suspended 80 Khasadars and three administration officials, official sources said on Sunday. The Express Tribune has learnt that after repeated complaints from the local people and transporters, Zeb issued suspension orders for 80 Khasadars, including Levies personnel. He said that three Muharirs identified as Zebullah Afridi, Turkistan and Roohul Amin were also sacked. However, it was also learnt that intervention by the FC compelled Zeb to take action against the culprits as an owner of the private parking lot, where Nato and private trucks used to park at Takhta Baig check post, had lodged complaint at the office of FC commandant that Khasadars and levy personnel were taking Rs5,000 from each truck standing at his parking lot.
