Tragedy: Woman, four children drown

A heavy contingent of Levies personnel and some rescue workers rushed to the area soon.

QUETTA: A woman and four children drowned when their vehicle was swept away due to flooding in Pishin river on Sunday. Three people, including a woman, were rescued. According to a Balochistan Levies official, two sisters and their four children were travelling to Nalay Achakzai from Manzaray when their vehicle was stuck near Barshor Nadi, which overflowed due to heavy rains. Later, a flash flood swept away the vehicle. A woman, identified as Naseba, her children Ajmal and Suleman and her sister’s sons, Azizullah and 8-month-old Bismallah, drowned. Local people rescued another woman, her brother and the driver. A heavy contingent of Levies personnel and some rescue workers rushed to the area soon after being informed about the incident.
