Rugby: Rams beat Lions in thriller

LAHORE: Lahore Rams beat Delhi Lions 5-3 to clinch the Lahore-Delhi Rugby Cup. Lions seized the early advantage as they raced into a 3-0 lead, with Devender being their stand-out player. However, a thrilling fightback from Lahore, which included the inspired efforts of substitute Khuram Haroon, allowed the hosts to wrestle back the initiative and hold on for a narrow victory in tough conditions. Jun Jun Bhasin, president of Delhi Lions club, congratulated Rams on their win and expressed his delight on a very successful tour. Rams are now planning a return trip to India in March.
