Mugging attempt: Two robbers killed in encounter

KARACHI: Two robbers died during an encounter with the police in the limits of Shah Latif police station on Friday. Four men were mugging a man named Abdul Haleem near Old Maher Cinema when the patrol police reached the spot. The men opened fire at the police when they asked them to turn themselves in. The police retaliated and two robbers were shot while the other two escaped. The man in charge of the Khuldabad police post, Ejaz Lodhi, said that they also seized two TT pistols and four stolen mobile phones from the men. The injured men were later taken to Jinnah hospital where they died. No case was registered till Friday evening.
