The petition challenged the court’s order on formation of a commission, and appointment of chief justices of three high courts to investigate the scandal.
The court announced to begin the hearing from January 17.
The petition was filed by Haqqani’s former counsel, Asma Jehangir, who sought a thorough review of the Supreme Court order handed down by a nine-judge bench on December 30.
In the review, Jehangir said the court did not have the authority to issue directions to judges of High Courts to constitute a commission.

Why is PCO SC so fast in taking this case and its appeals to completion ASAP? There have been many cases where there are no hearings for decades. Looks like the SC judges have no other duties these days. All the judges of SC and HC are dedicated to an unofficial and unsigned memo delivered by a shady double agent. From Asghar Khan, to M. Mai, to Abbottabad, to Mehran Base to Bhatti, all cases can wait indefinitely. The dangerous Memo is the biggest hurdle in providing justice to all others.
