Six options

Letter January 11, 2012
Fair to assume the country is heading towards a serious conflict between the executive, judiciary and the military.

JUBAIL, SAUDI ARABIA: After this, it would be fair to assume that the country is heading towards a serious conflict between the executive, judiciary and the military wherein the latter two seem to be on the same side. One could also presume that the establishment has made up its mind to opt for the so-called ‘Bangladesh model’, where the country’s judiciary, backed by the military, ran the country for a certain period of time.

All this is going to lead to nothing but more chaos and deterioration of an already fragile economy. Pakistan’ issues are widespread terrorism, religious extremism, lack of energy resources, natural calamities and unchecked population growth — they are not memogate or the NRO.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the institutions are bent upon dismantling the very foundation of what forms the peoples will.
