New Ventures: Business group launches NGO for children

A group of companies from United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Al Zarooni Group, has launched Al Zarooni Foundation.

KARACHI: A group of companies from United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Al Zarooni Group, has launched Al Zarooni Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, to work for the welfare of orphans, flood-hit children, juvenile prisoners and policemen’s children. The foundation plans to provide free education and medical facilities. A spokesman announced that a hostel will be built in Karachi for street children where they will be provided with food and will be admitted to the top schools of the city. The group plans to launch the foundation in the UAE and England as well. Salahuddin Haider, a trustee, said that the foundation will help strengthen relations between the UAE and Pakistan.
