ISLAMABAD:
Punjab has achieved 96.33% of wheat sowing target for the crop season of 2011-12, an official in the Directorate of Agriculture Punjab said on Monday. The province’s completed wheat cultivation over 16.27 million acres against fixed target of 16.89 million acres for 2011-12 season. Pakistan Agri Forum Chairman Muhammad Ibrahim Mughal said that wheat sowing decreased by 1.3% owing to different factors like artificial shortage of fertilisers and certified seeds.
