Nabbed: 17kg of heroin seized at Karachi airport
The Drug Enforcement Cell at Karachi airport seized 17 kilogrammes of heroin.

The Drug Enforcement Cell at Karachi airport seized 17 kilogrammes of heroin which was hidden in a consignment of t-shirts on its way to Lagos, Nigeria. They also arrested two people identified as Mehmood Ahmad and Ashraf Abbas. The heroin was concealed in 30 polythene packets which were wrapped with the t-shirts in two cartons. The men were booked under Control of Narcotics Substances Act 1997. Earlier in the month, the staff apprehended a Pakistani couple for attempting to smuggle 800 grammes of heroin to Colombo. Another man, Anjum Farooqui, was also arrested for trying to stashing 460 grammes in his laptop. He was going to Kuala Lumpur.
