A Pakistan Embassy spokesperson told The Express Tribune that the former MNA was greeted at the airport by State Department and Pakistan Embassy officials.
The spokesperson added that Rehman will be at the Pakistan Embassy on Monday. "She will pay courtesy calls to senior State Department officials during the week."
The spokesperson also said that Rehman would meet US President Barack Obama on January 18 to present her credentials.
Earlier, White House spokesperson Caitlin Hayden told The Express Tribune, "The United States has granted agrément to Rehman as the Pakistani Ambassador to the United States. At the appropriate time in the near future, she will be invited to the White House to join other newly-arrived Ambassadors in presenting their credentials to the President."
Rehman was appointed as Pakistan's representative to the US after her predecessor, Husain Haqqani was asked to resign for his alleged involvement in the Memogate scandal. Rehman, then a siting Member of the National Assembly, had to give up her seat in the upper house.

With Hina Rabbani Khar as foreign minister and Sherry Rehman as Pakistan's ambassador to the U.S., the frosty relationship between the two countries could thaw. Let's hope that the two women are not at the bidding of the ISI and their diplomatic skills are as good as their looks.
She is a democratic and sincere lady. I am hopeful she would keep Pakistan's interests ahead in engaging in any talks with US, unlike Haqqanis who always talked for the interests of US.
She is the right person for the right job in the present situation

A progressive soft figure will help Pakistan's image and eventually relations with US. A good move! Thanks Ms. Rehman.
god bless her...brave lady
Best of luck to Sherry Rahman. I hope that she will be able to reduce the distance between the diplomatic relations of Pakistan and US.
My only advice to her if she wants to succeed and survive as Ambassador of Pakistan to US is to keep away from the Black-Berry man.
Welcome to the USA, a lot of catch-up needed but we are confident of your abilities.
Congratulations and good luck. Keep safe distance from Pakistani origin people.
