An employee of a factory was shot and injured during a robbery in Tarnol on Thursday, police sources said.


The incident took place at Everest Plastic Pipe factory at Ghaffar Khan Road, where a gang of armed robbers stormed and held the owner, a driver and other employees of the factory at gunpoint.

The robbers demanded the money that was brought to the factory moments ago, workers told the police.

However, the driver, Muhammad Ibrahim, resisted them.

One of the robbers shot him and snatched Rs2.8 million in cash from the owner, police said.

Ibrahim was taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where doctors described his condition to be critical, at the time this report was filed.  “He is under observation,” the doctor said.

The police sealed the area and started search operation.
