Gunship helicopters pounded militant hideouts in the Jogi area of central Kurram destroying four militant hideouts.
According to sources, the house of Haji Muhammad Saleem, a tribal leader from Sada, central Kurram Agency was also partially damaged when militants placed a bomb nearby.
Sources close to Saleem’s family told The Express Tribune that two of Saleem’s daughters, two other children and his brother Malik Sardar were injured in the incident.
Saleem had played a vital role in the agreement between the Shia and the Sunni factions in the area. The agreement led to the reopening of Thall, Parachinar and Sada Highway after a span of three years.
In separate incidents, five security personnel were injured in a road accident in Dogar and two others were injured when a hand grenade went off in the Gul Shah Kalay area. The cause of the incident could not be immediately determined; however, local sources termed it as an accident.

I guess even the civilian and military leaders realize that unless decisive action is taken against these crazed militants, Pakistan cannot reverse itself from a bottomless precipice. With the Americans pulling out, tis time to get some things (and I hope the country as well) in order.

What's up with the recent flury of military activity against the militants --- what happened to all the speeches saying your military would never attack fellow Pakistani's - what happened to all the speeches that said that once you quit assisting the USA the militants would join forces with Pakistan. It would appear that the militants have their own plans for Pakistan and don't give a twit about what your politcal/military leaders think. Looks like you have your own War on Terror and this time with no backing from the USA - good luck with that.
