Instilling knowledge, expertise among the ‘mentors’

Rahbar programme launched in the capital.

Volunteers of a local mobile company kicked off The Citizens Foundation’s (TCF) “Rahbar” mentor programme in the capital with an objective to promote education amongst the underprivileged, said a press release issued Monday.


In this regard, an interactive workshop was arranged to prepare the volunteers, who are taking part in TCF’s Rahbar programme (commencing from January) and instill in them the knowledge and expertise to carry out mentorship activities.

TCF Rahbar programme is a “Mentor Program” aimed at development of the youth into responsible individuals and productive members of society, the press release added.

The programme has completed seven successful cycles in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi.

In just over three years, TCF have been able to reach over to 3,500 students with the support of more than 800 volunteer mentors from all walks of life. Head of Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility, at a mobile company, Moazzam Ali Khan said that the volunteers were very keen on sharing their experiences with the students at the TCF schools.

He said that the aim was to make a difference, no matter how big or small, in the lives of these children.

Assistant Manager Volunteers and Alumni - North at TCF, Tuba Mahmood said, “I am glad to see such a positive response regarding The Citizens Foundation and its Rahbar programme.

“The CSR initiative taken by a mobile company and other corporate entities not only helps to spread the message of our organisation but it also provides a platform to people who want to go an extra mile to give back to society,” Mahmood said.
