According to official sources, security forces launched an operation on an intelligence tip-off in Alamgir Killay in the Karmina area in Landi Kotal tehsil.
Security sources said that Kamran was involved in various attacks on security forces, particularly a suicide attack in Shabqadar in May 2011 in which more than 90 cadets were killed. He was also involved in the June twin bombing in Nowshera that killed over 20 people and a suicide attack in Risalpur cantonment in August that killed a police assistant sub-inspector.
Sources said that 12 TTP militants were killed in the operation, while one soldier died and two sustained injuries.
Earlier, media persons were also briefed about a huge cache of arms and explosives including anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns being recovered in a search operation in the Bazgarh area.
“All these arms and ammunitions have been smuggled from across the border while a majority of these are Russian manufactured,” an official said.

Well done, Pakistan Army. I hope this is just the beginning.
@R S JOHAR: what do you mean by "if it is true"? All the accomplishments of Pak forces are subject to ambiguity?
On topic: Great Job PAKARMY. Eliminate this TTP cult once and for all
Another Qari caught in terrorist act. What are the chances. Didn’t see that one coming.
Foreign Militants in Pakistan! Say it isn't so! Surely they had their visas and "permits to enter " all in good order, just like Osama bin Laden and family did!
So unless any terrorist has attacked the security forces no action will be taken against them.
I have a love and hate relationship with these Taliban. When they go and attack Afghanis I start loving them and when they kill their own Pakistanis I start hating them.
Yes ! Its all so easy, when Pak Army decides to act, but sadly they decided to create their assets and played their silly games in the bigger picture, otherwise this war on terror would have been over way back. The order would have been restored, the nation would have gained enough brownie points to capitalise over another decade and the trust element would never have been questioned. But this is Pakistan, and the world has their own view of them now, hence their actions are rather late and full of doubts too ! Why now??
He got what he deserved for killing innocent Pakistanis to please his foreign masters!
make sure its not Raw.
Terrorist, May you burn in hell.... ever so slowly.
Great news ! no place for religious extremists in Pakistan !
Woohooo!! good start to the year...may this be a year we get rid of all our enemies within and ourtside Pakistan. Happy New year!
I'm glad they killed him. This Kamran guy killed one of close relatives of ours. And he was involved in many terrorist activities around Peshawar & Nowshera areas.
And now they will return and kill military and civilians both. Where is this going to end? If talks can bring peace, there is no shame in doing that IMO.
Congratulations to security forces for eliminating one worse guy.
We need to arrest all the bad guys, whether dead or alive, in order to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country.
Pakistan is made to progress and not meant where the terrorism should grow.
I offer my condolences for those security officials who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
If this news is true, all credit to Pak security forces. They should eliminate or capture more commanders to break the back of TTP.
Well done Pakistan. It is in your national interest to defeat all violent militants in your territory.
