Musharraf, who formed a party by the name of All Pakistan Muslim League in 2010, has announced that he will return to Pakistan in January 2012.
“People from every political party are joining the PTI,” Qureshi said while speaking to the media on Sunday. “PTI is not just a trend.
It also represents an ideology against the status quo,” he added.
Qureshi said if the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz decided to resign from the parliament the government would be left with no option but to call early election. However, he said, the PTI was in no hurry to gain power.
“I pray that whoever comes in power in the future is loyal to Pakistan,” he said.
He criticised the government and said that some of its members would try to leave the country as soon as they were out of power. But, he added, the PTI would ensure that no one escaped accountability.
Qureshi said the PTI’s recent rally in Karachi had once and for all settled the difference between a government-funded gathering and one that inspired people. “PTI is the only party with the potential to address the grievances of Pakistani people,” he said.
Qureshi said his differences with President Asif Ali Zardari did not prevent him from acknowledging the generosity of the president’s late father, Hakim Ali Zardari. “He [Hakim] always remained respectful towards me and my family,” he said.
Qureshi earlier spoke to a public gathering as part of ceremonies on the second day of Bahauddin Zakariya’s urs. “I can abandon worldly relations but will never overlook responsibilities inherited from my forefathers,” he told the gathering.

President Pervez Musharraf And Prime Minister Imran Khan
Two powerful & strong personalities.....can make Pakistan super power & a better place to live !
MUSH and PTI, Pakistan a new super power!
musharaf's tenure was far better than this one. during his time the economy remained constant if not grew. Dollar remained around Rs.60/- for the whole 8 years. and just after few years of his tenure it has bounced up to Rs.90 per dollar. If this is democracy then there is no system worse than it. Besides this, in mushi's tenure the country's condition was far better than the Nawaz Sharif's (1997-99) and Gilani's (2008 to present). the only decision which resulted in his step down was the deposition of the judges. And like all human being, he can also commit mistakes. and this was the main mistake. Otherwise, his every decision was in the favour of Pakistan, after all he is a patriotic man. And we all have no doubt in his passion and patriotism. We saw how he wandered around the globe to convince the people around the world to aknowledge Pakistan's sacrifices even after his tenure. He delivered lectures, held press conferences and attended the interviews and answered bravely to the people who hate and conspire against PAKISTAN. This effort was done neither by Zardari nor by Sharifs when they were out of power and were living abroad. They just kept silence and put their efforts to make money and have a comfortable life. We all know Mushi can not pull the country out of crisis now, but he can be a good companion of the Great Imran Khan. I wish Imran allows this man to have alliance with PTI though the extremist surely want him not come again. .
Great. What else can be expected from the torch bearers of CHANGE?
so long for PTI and CHANGE
PTI cant stop bickering about PML N but they themselves are playing the dirtiest politics of all
yaar kaunsi political suicide?????
This is the best alliance of the parhi lekhi kaum!!!!! I liked Musharraf more than the current Zar-Waz axis!!!!!
so PTI and Musharraf is a good choice!!!!
I have gone through most of the comments of readers, what i understood is that mush &IK forces think alike. what a thought,a man who destroyed our country and was of cause of killing thousand of people etc, they should together & surely tsunami(disaster) will come.
Pervaiz Musharaf...........is a true leader with vast practical experience and Pakistan needs a leader like him in the prevailing situation. I believe with the exception of few unpopular actions he performed beyond expectations and took the country to new horizons.
I am a die hard fan of PTI and always valued Imran Khan's principle centric passionate approach. However, his party's mere consideration of joining hands with the man who laid the foundations of all the disasters that happened in the recent past in this country - the murderer of his own people - Musharraf, has sickened me. I just hope that it's Qureshi's personal opinion and not that of Imran Khan coz if this happens, I am not gonna be voting for them- although they were the only reason I actually got my vote registered this time.
I am pretty sure that if IK&PM Join togather they will form a very good team for progess and prosperity of Pakistan.IK has the desire to root out corruption and make everyone accountable for misdeed whereas PM has the experience of running the country which had made Pakistan economically strong and viable plus he has military experience as well, which is a strong point in his favour.Beside he has vast experience of dealing with World Leaders.I request all the people of our country to think more rationally and realistically. Please dont get carried away by misinformation.
Imran can do any thing* If Mushraf team joined imran than what about musharaf.Imran is on AmericaN agenda.BE AWARE...................................................?
I have been a supporter of PTI since the day Imran Khan stepped in to politics. I attended my first ever political jalsa in Lahore at Minar-e-Pakistan and was thrilled to see the crowd supporting PTI. But if PTI accepts Musharraf who literally sold Pakistan to the Americans or if he accepts Altaf bhai whom he has always criticized, then I will quit PTI. I will quit PTI...Imran Khan.....Listen up!! And so will the thousands of people who have faith in PTI!
I think Media is playing big role and PTI is one Party and will Remain and Rule AS ONE.
Please don't join hands with APML.
Assalam-o-Allaikum Warahmatullah. The biggest ever committed mistake PTI shall make if PTI joins and shakes hands with APML because Imran Khan is continuously blaming and accusing Musharraf of the current Pakistan's politically, financially and economically destroyed conditions and by doing so PTI shall loose its popularity, credibility and trustworthiness in its lovers' and followers' hearts.PTI should never to do so.
PTI would be smart to include Musharraf in their team and Mushrraf would be great for the position of defense minister or foreign minister. Ofcourse Imran Khan will be the boss of all the team members and their leader. This would be a good thing for Pakistan.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi Sahib:
You have recently switched over from PPP to PTI and you will remain on probation period of six month.
Kindly think about before you speak.
It will be really bad if your newly acquired job would be terminated without giving you any notice.
One has to look at the Big Picture. PTI and Musharaff will be a wise decision for the big picture of the country. Both IK and Mush are smart and intelligent people and they both have good following. It will be good for Pakistan. Musharraf will make a good foreign minister for the country. People should leave immature emotions aside and think of the big picture and try to pick up the country back to its feets. Intelligence and honesty is what is needed now and this alliance would have that and would be able to pull the country through the crisis.
Here's a very basic and a critical analysis of the PTI manifesto and the flaws in it. All PTI supporters and those who oppose them should read this.
https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150561894811241
Imran Khan - Musharraf alliance is the best thing that can happen to Pakistan. Both put Pakistan first, both are honest and both believe in meritocracy. Musharraf has a proven track record of tremendous economic progress and poverty-reduction. These are more important to the common man than empty slogans and personality cults of the other parties.
Can someone please tell me where in this article SMQ mentions that "an alliance with Musharaf will be considered after due deliberation...".?
Another consiparacy to downgrade the image of PTI by these so-called paid journalists. Whatever these paid journalists and PPP and PML-N do will now backfire. I don't think the people of Pakistan will be fooled again.
Enough is Enough. And Yes I do look forward to someone quoting SMQ where he talked about a possible alliance with Musharaf.
express tribune must not issue fake news.......... pti has denied the story............. so better publish denial tomorrow
Said it before . . will say it again: Martial Law is the BEST LAW for PAKISTAN. Democracy can only happen if the citizens are educated enough to know WHO to vote for . . and we all know where this has taken us. Musharraf was the best deal we got!!! Sadly we will never get a leader like him.
@rashid:
then you arnt a PTI supporter.
It shouldn't be now difficult to connect the dots.
Not a single word is changed and the story in published as of 2nd January from 1st Jan. Have you guyz confirmed it with SMQ? Oh, sorry asking ET for honest reporting is asking for too much.
It will be a suicide attempt of PTI to form alliance with APML
@Gurria Rani:
just add a little in your knowledge, Musharraf was rarely criticized for corruption by his critics, including IK(as Musharaf remained comparatively clean till his exit time). He faced extreme resistance and criticism for altogether different reasons.
PTI BEWARE ... do not commit suicide. Draw you limits. PTI is not a 'lungar' for every one to join.
It will be Great for Pakistan and bad and scary for the enemy and opposition! Glad they are considering this. Hope it happens . . .victory is sure!
Pakistan has suffered more under this regime than any other previous government. As for Musharraf, it was he and no civilian government that gave Pakistan this free media.
Please delete "y" in the second last line of the article that appears to be a typo error.
If this alliance is made, it will be the start of the end of PTI... by the way since when then SMQ start making PTI decisions...???
First of al Musharraf should be charged with toppling a civilian government. If no one is willing to do that, then PTI does not need him.
Musharraf should also be accountable to start the Kargil Fiasco
It will be good for Pakistan and will be a sure victory and also it will scare the opposition!! This will be an intelligent, strategic and strong alliance for both domestic and international success. Good Luck!
My vote for PTI if this happens!
I will commit suicide if this alliance happens.
@dudewheresmycar?: I prefer Musharraf over our “democratically elected” govt…i wasnt in pakistan during musharraf’s era, but all i remember was we were we respected for ONCE around the world because of Mush..if it wasnt for Mush we wouldnt have so many colleges and universities, at least our planes were flying, exchange rate was low, economy was the third fastest in the world next to india and brazil..big deal he screwed the constitution, do you really think pakistani’s care about constitution anymore..big deal..get over it…if it wasnt for Musharraf we wouldnt be here commenting on such posts…we’d probably be in cells for writting anything against or speaking against the govt…
100 % Agreed Sir ...
Most of our politicians came to lime lite with the backing of military .Let it be Bhutto, nawaz sherif and many more like those. Our people have pardoned them on this sin. Then why musharraf cant be forgiven by this nation.he has certainly made mistakes. This is a trade mark of dictatorship but in musharraf's case no one can say that he was corrupt.
Such actions making PTI, no more a FRESH AIR for the people of Pakistan.
PTI, Mush, MMA, MQM vs PPP, ANP, PML (N), could be an interesting match in case PML(N) shows maturity to stand with progressive political forces.
Wow! Musharaf come back soon. Pakistan needs you
Relax everyone, here is clarification from PTI:
Shafqat Mahmood I have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf.
http://www.facebook.com/Shafqat.Mahmood.Official/posts/309269929117560
If this happens then people would be convinced that agencies are really behind pti.
Good that PTI Secy Gen has refuted this . It would be a political suicide to even mention cooperation with a person who has brought Pakistan to disaster, terrorism, NRO and all.
shafqat mehmood (PTI info sec) has issued a rejoinder that he has spoken to SMQ to verify the above report and that this story is baseless and SMQ did not discuss any alliance with Musharaf in any recent interview...in the past couple of days both the PTI info secretary and Secretary General (Arif Alvi) of the party have also categorically denied any possibilities of an alliance / talks with Musharaf at the current time. The media instead of a PTI witchhunt should base its stories on facts rather than sensationalist headline grabbing stunts!
Let's hold our horses for a moment...following is the latest tweet from PTI secretary Shafqat Mehmood..."I have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf."
NAWAZ's FUNDED PROPAGANDA STARTS ...
See the truth here...
https://twitter.com/#!/Shafqat_Mahmood/status/153522797979779072
I ve heard in program that Musharraf is ready to make alliance to break status quo but IK says no to him forcefully! Watch program zer-e-behes w/ Arif Nizami (1st jan 2012)!plus no news channel break this statement of SMQ!I think its fabricated!
They article does not go with the Title. Has anyone actually read the article?, Just wondering!
this can only be good for pakistan. if the PTI is serious about breaking the stauts quo of PML-N and PPP, then the APML and PTI have a lot of common ground. those who are hating on president musharraf from their cushy western living rooms need to find out on the ground in pakistan how people in pakistan feel about president musharraf. they are asking for him to come back. they are seeing the difference his rule in government had vs the current lot of terrible governance. yes, he has made mistakes. has imran khan not made any mistakes? he sat with PPP and PML-N for Godsakes. musharraf has apologized publicly for the NRO and for the judiciary crisis. what else should he do? what do people expect from the man now?
Shafqat Mahmood: spoken to SMQ. Has denied the etribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf #PTI. This is on the official twitter and Facebook pages of Shafqat Mahmood.
@Adeel Ahmed:
javed hashmi isnt running the party, imran khan is.
No one should support PTI if they allow a dictator like Musharraf to join them. It will make democracy a joke. Musharraf took over illegally and destabilized Pakistan with 9 years of dictatorship. The Muslim world is kicking out dictators in Egypt and Libya- Pakistan should know better than to welcome back a dictator who only cares about himself.
Why was the Headline change???? ET needs better editors. First Confusing the Kasuris now this LOL Amateurs PS: Everyone calm down SMQ has categorically denied any such thing was said. If ET is sure they should reproduce the exact quote where he said it.
It's not about the number of votes you get. At the end of it all, it is the number of seats you command in the parliament. I'm glad to see IK is finally politics-literate.@Juda:
PTI will do anything to get into power!! SHAME ON U & yr lies IMRAN KHAN !!!
APML and PTI if join hands can become a good combination in pulling out Pakistan from the back lash given to this country by the present ruler and i am sure that Pakistan will definatly get out of this mess which we are face right now.
What a thankless nation. Is Musharraf not a Pakistani? I'm not a subscribed supporter of any political party but I firmly believe that Mushy is better than Zardari Clan and Nawaz Gang. We should take full advantage of Mushy's bold personality and expertise to get rid of all enemies of our dear country. I think SC of Pakistan should grant him immunity from any of his previous political follies as an ex-president of Pakistan and chief of army as well. Mushy should be a foreign minister of Pakistan or interior ministry wouldn't be a bad post.
The reality is simple though a bit comic in Pakistan's case: Sheikh Rasheed rightly said: "Saray jahooriat kay phool fauji gamlay mein uggay hain Bhutto say ley kar ajj tak." In reality, in Pakistan there has never been a govt of the people, by the people and for the people even during its so-called democratic periods. Major parties are family managed inherited businesses and their electoral practices are so foul that they cannot be deemed democratic. Politicians leave no stone unturned to get elected be it killing their opponents. No politician of note in Pakistan is from middle class or properly middle pass! Bilwal will inherit PPPP and Maryam (beauty) or Hamza (beast) will inherit PML(N). Imran Khan loton ki barat lay kar ja raha hai. He had plastic lotas before; now steel lotas like Hashmi and Qureshi etc are joining him which will make his rule the same old story with the same old 'electable' faces. In the present scenario, army will again be forced to take over by circumstances like financial collapse, civil unrest and SOEs' failure. Army won't be farishtas but there are only a few generals at the top who could be corrupt say 9 Corps commanders while rest follow orders diligently. Hence, there is always much less corruption n more economic prosperity during military rule. So military rule which is inevitable now! Ordinary people now look back to Musharraf's time as a golden period and ask when will Kiyani get rid of the present lot. This is what i heard while buying cigarettes at a khokha. So with popular support behind him Kiyani is the only democratic option!
I would like to comment on makdom shah mahmood's comments regarding president Zardari's father Hakim Ali zardari saying that he is greatful to the late father of president my question is that the man who made him forign minister and gave him lot of respect for him shah shab is talking all sorts of harsh and leving different alligations and for the man who said that Qaid-e-Azam was not to be respected he has a soft corner and he says that PTI is the party which is gaining fame day by day is in correct, as a matter of fact all those who have earlier enjoyed a lot when they were either in PMLN, PMLQ, PPP after seeing the Lahore jalsa thought that PTI might come into power therefore, they started joining Imran Khan either on the instructions of some hiden hands or for geting a seat in assembly for the next five years in both cases it will be PTI which will suffer because the general public is now quite aleart and they know that the corrupt and trators can not bring any change to this country, I was the first man to send a msg to Imran Khan saying that if he join hands with Gen. Musharraf and he becomes the prime minister and the gen. becomes the president both of them joined togeather might bring the change which is badly needed and i am happy that now they have started thinking on lines which i had suggested the PTI chief which is on record. I would suggest Maqdom sahab to refrain from such language which he has used for his ex leader because he might have to leave this party also and than if talks against Imran Khan where will he stand after some time.
Is this guy SMQ really well wisher of IK and PTI?? I smell some foul play in this statement by SMQ. it seems he is trying to block Javed Hashmi role within PTI as its a clear fact that Javed Hashmi will never go with anything close to Musharraf.appoint Javed Hashmi as voice chairman of the PTI and relieve SMQ of this position.IK should himself come forward and clarify things.
ET is lying. Just checked Shafqat Mehmood tweet. In which he says that i ring SMQ & he denied the statement. And said its a prophaganda against PTI.
PTI General Secretary has just confirmed on twitter that it is a baseless story and SMQ never even mentioned Musharraf name. He was simply asked question about alliances which he replied by saying that it is too soon to rule in and out any alliance.
why changed the heading?? was the previous one misleading? even now nothing has been stated below the heading which verify his denial http://707monty.blogspot.com
have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf - Shafqat Mahmood , Information Secretary PTI. Source Facebook.com/PTIOfficial
Now PTI is coming in practical politics....Good hai..:) ! We were sick of their idealistic & impractical statements!!
PTI Chairman, Imran Khan, and General Secretary, Dr. Arif Alvi, have categorically, and explicitly denied the possibility of alliance with General Musharraf. Do read the statement released by PTI Press Release, http://insaf.pk/News/tabid/60/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/9316/Khurshid-Kasuri-did-not-meet-Musharraf-personally-Dr-Arif-Alvi.aspx
I am a PTI supporter and I am highly dissappointed by the statement that Qureshi refuses to rule out alliance with a criminal (Musharraf)
Im overseas pakistani, im really confused by reading some of the comments on here. It seems people prefer the four years of corruption, no electric, no water, no gas, no law and order, a poor economy. If u ask me then id say 100 times id rather prefer the musharraf govt over this so called democracy. This is not democracy. For once rather than searching "sex" on google search "democracy". Under musharrafs govt for once i felt proud to say im British with a Pakistani origin! But these zardari/sharif dudes have sent pakistan to the stone age! So dont worry about USA or India sending u back to stone age! No water, no electric, no education, messed up roads, one of the currencies in the world, digging dead people from there graves ... Mmmm to me this is the stone age!
@Shafqat_Mahmood: I have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf. I hope this clears the misconception in minds. And i dont knw how everyone believes a news story right away. If you are putting your trust in PTI, stick with it. I am sure PTI wont disappoint.
Musharaf is by far the greatest leader to ever grace Pakistan. He is our messiah
guys hold your horses before speculating
have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf - Shafqat Mahmood , Information Secretary PTI
this is the statement by pakistan tehreek insaaf
Here you go ....... The first blow from the so called political tycoons to the new party ...... Sorry IK if this happens than trust me ,,,,,, you will not get even a single vote
I know its just one vote. But the day they would join hands with him, PTI would lose one more vote from its vote bank.
We, the students and the youth of Pakistan, will protest at every forum against this decision by PTI to form an alliance with an erstwhile military dictator, because we are the core base upon which PTI is cashing on. This is the only party with which we are emotionally and ideologically attached and we cannot see it commit a fatal accident, or to be more precise a suicide.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf [Offical page] have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf - Shafqat Mahmood , Information Secretary PTI
tribune is loosing its credibility.. remove this article asap or justify it
Wish PTI best of luck
Imran Khan has never personally said any thing like this, and with the entrance of these new powerful faces i think the attention of the people is getting polarized due to these kind of issues, previously Imran was the only man in focus. More over the attitude of these politicians is also confusing. Any way best of luck IK..
This is fake news:
Shafqat mahmood said on twitter: I have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf.
Shafqat Mehmood has just realised a statement regarding this article he has talked wid SMQ and has called this article totally a piece of fakeness and fraudary ... SMQ hasnt even taken musharrafs name in his any recent statement ... Tribune should take care of their credibility more den view count...
I am A PTI supporter....But if IK or PTI join hands with MUSHARAF then I m not going to support them or Even I became anti PTI......Because Musharaf is the one,,who put Pakisian in deep troule...so NO musharaf....Even Nawaz Sharf is better then Musharaf 100 times PTI the BEST PML-N(BELOW AVERAGE) PPP (CURUPT) MQM(terorist) MUSHARAF(CURUPT+TERORIST+THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY)
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM PTI:
"I have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf - Shafqat Mahmood , Information Secretary PTI"
@asma@london: Allow me to continue where you left: Hahahahahahaha: “PTI is neither a trend nor a fad today. It is an ideology to shake the status quo and will soon be the practical implementation of the dreams of the Pakistani people.” hahaha Recommend"
IK please dont have anything to do with Mush.
This story is fake. Shafqat Mehmood, spokesperson of PTI, has denied it on twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/Shafqat_Mahmood
Shafqat Mahmood on twitter said: I have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf.
this bad very bad disinformation
Shafqat Mahmood (@Shafqat_Mahmood) 1/1/12 10:07 PM I have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf.
Wow Tribune, WOW. Responsible Journalism ? SMQ just refuted the entire article. Visit PTI's Facebook page.
Its no strange thing if they chose to do so. Afterall 80% of the PTI core leadership comprises of Musharaf era ministers/office bearers.
“PTI is neither a trend nor a fad today. It is an ideology to shake the status quo and will soon be the practical implementation of the dreams of the Pakistani people.” hahaha
MashAllah :)
shafqat mahmood said on facebook ''I have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf.''
Irresponsible Journalism at its worst. look at the headline and look at SMQ statements. Highly irresponsible. heres another piece of Journalism. Look at the headline and what it says in the body. http://www.thenews.com.pk/TodaysPrintDetail.aspx?ID=85245&Cat=2 a more responsible journalism say "Imran, Gilani to attend World Economic Forum"
Shafqat Mehmood tweets, "SMQ has denied the story" ...Shame ET..
Relax guys....I can guarantee,PTI is never gonna do this...These are mere propagandas...PTI IS NOT GOING INTO ANY ALLIANCE WITH MUSHARAF OR MQM....Just wait and let the time decide...Wheneva asked about any alliance from SMQ,he always answers politically which gives a wrong perception...But having confirmed from a reliable source of mine in PTI,they are never gonna join hands with MQM or Musharaf....
may be this is fake news but pti has to issue its negation fast.............
Well I don't see anything wrong in it In fact if they really want to break this status co They have to do some alliance and Musharraf is not a bad choice
Musharraf has 9 years experience of ruling Pakistan and I think it will be very good combination for the betterment of pakistan if they both decide to join hand..Both can represent Pakistan on every forum and both take personal interest in economy.
This is a tweet by Shafqat Mehmood on Twitter clearing about this article!! "@Shafqat_Mahmood: I have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf." Previously, Imran Khan even said that we will either sweep the elections or sit in opposition, there is no other choice for us.
If this happens I will spit on Imran Khan n PTI ! Right now I am a die hard fan!
Shafqat Mehmood's latest Tweet.. I have spoken to SMQ. He has denied the tribune story. He never said anything about considering an alliance with Musharraf. Now that's cheap from ET... I hope my comment gets published..
Musharraf is the man who ruined Pakistan, if PTI shake Hands with him, this will be biggest political suicide in the history of Pakistan
Its called political suicide and genocide of idealogy
An alliance with Mush will be a political suicide for PTI.
I was hoping, in Imran, we would finally have a leader that could reign in the military/ISI and make them subservient to the peoples' representatives. Looks like wishful thinking now with these kinds of messages coming out from PTI leadership.
To PTI supporters. Common guys, the kind of revolution you expect doesnt come by attending jalsas with background theme music or writing sharply worded blogs or comments! In order to bring in change there has to be a strategy to win the polls and to gain executive powers. IK knows what he's doing. As for you guys, if you are that keen on bringing a revolution, how many of you are willing to spend nights at a place in Lahore or Karachi like Cairo's Tehrir Square and face batons and bullets? Chances are most of you are just cyber-surfing, cable watching, pizza-gulping, jeans-wearing, style conscious (even self conscious) couch potatoes/burgers. I challenge you to put your fancy laptops aside and go out to face the realities. Dont just blame IK or SMK. Dont forget it was Musharraf who made all these things available to you that you are enjoying and using to condemn him. Change/revolution is brought on by those youngsters who struggle through life trying to survive and earn a bread everyday. And unfortunately they are all lured away by the misguided and cruel "Taliban".
PTI is a democractic party and every member can have their own viewpoint...however alliance with Musharaf cannot not be an option, rather he should be taken to the court of law and only PTI can do that!
The fact that they are even considering an alliance says that the want to be in power more than they want change.
It is Mush now, then Altaf Bhai could not be far behind.
PTI is just a bunch of opportunists from all parties. how can one even think of considering allying with Musharraf. the same Musharaff who was IK's rival and not so favourite in the eyes of Pakistanis.
IF THEY EVER ALLY WITH THEM THEN ITS I'M 110% SURE THEY'RE BEING BACKED BY THE AGENCIES!!
Aa ha !!Best news of the year !!I Please do that !!
Mr.Khan is sincere and it will be a very wise decision of from IK if he joins hands with Musharraf and these two leaders can take Pakistan out of darkness and current crisis
I was just watching an interview of Musharraf with Arif Nizami who has taken one hour interview and I see that he has a vision and courage This will be very very true smart alliance . Imran has yet to have a slogan Musharraf alraedy has and that is " sub se pahle Pakistan" and IK should adaot that slogan
@Gurria Rani: Imran khan is sincere and it will be a very wise decision from IK if he joins hands with Musharraf and these two leaders can take Pakistan out of darkness and current crisis This will be very very true smart alliance . Imran has yet to have a slogan Musharraf laraedy has and that is " sub se pahle Pakistan"
Wrong heading if this news. PTI will never ever do alliance wit Musharraf.
Do you expect that Hamid Khan (Senior Vice President), Justice WSajihuddin and Javed Hashmi will make allliance with Musharraf.
Javed hashmi clearly said that he took oath from IK that he will not shake hand with Musharraf.
A show cause notice should be issued to SMQ as well...This is sick from him.. Waiting for IK's response.. We were already disappointed from PPP,PML(N),MQM & all others & if that happened then I guess there will b a Arab style Revolution in Pakistan..
Alliance with Musharaf is much better then shaking hands with Mullahs
It would be great if both musharraf and imran khan form an alliance together musharraf in the past did alot for the country, the economy was third fastest growing in his time the country was on the path of success we need imran khan and musharraf to work together to save the country from crisis in order to save pakistan both of them should form an alliance.
I would be happy to see musharraf as the president of pakistan and imran khan as the prime minster.
See i predicted this long before.....if we want to break the status quo....it is the need of the hour to get all the liberal and honest forces on board...
Pakistan First
This is so not right ! I can't imagine PTI considering or willing to consider Mushurrauf. The Nation needs a change and a break ! This is first bad news of the New Year.
How can IK do this ? How PTI and IK are going to solve Baluchistan problem ? IK has been sidelined and this means the death of PTI. I am so disappointed. IK has proved that "POLITICS IS POLLUTED TRICKS FOR POCKET AND POWER"..
What a New Year's Gift !!!! The next jalsa of PTI shall have the lowest turnout. End of PTI.
I don't believe it. I am sure this is taking a wrong meaning and outta context saying. IK has categorically denied an alliance with musharraf on numerous times.
PTI has gone crazy
Imran Khan know that it will be political suicide if join hand with Musharraf and this is why Kasuri get show cause notice and immediate refusal from Dr. Arif Alvi regarding any cooperation with Musharraf.
So nobody needs to worry. No alliance.
My Support Always Goes To Musharraf.......! Does not it reveal that IK just wanted to have a Lota Baza........! He Has No Explicit practical Vision........! Mush was far better than him...........! Why Is IK going to join the one whom he considers the most corrupt...? Has Mush Cleaned up Now?
You shall lose my vote the day you join hands with Musharraf.
@Blithe: they are not considering this, you can hate all you want. Arif Alvi who is senior to SMQ has categorically denied any chance of alliance with mushi and further said that he will be held accountable. either the statement was misinterpreted or SMQ has lost his mind. plus I don't see a single quote in the article regarding SMQs statement. Merely another propaganda attempt by tribune to put there words into his mouth. don't worry it will also not succeed like the attempt they did with Qusoori.
PTI is growing the party of ANGELS more & more angels are coming NEAT & CLEANED day by day . . . .
This unholy alliance between PTi and Musharraf will hurt PTi badly. It will lose all of its currently fading credibility..
What a suicidal statement by SMQ. PTI should give an official clarification about this statement. This is a request from a loyal PTI supporter and I'm sure i represent many.
Old vine in a new bottle; A new alliance is being emerged like IJI like 90's era,( Right-handed parties)
After reading the entire article twice, I realized that Qureshi has not stated ONCE that they will consider an alliance with Musharraf. The article headline put up by Tribune is extremely misleading and depicts their malicious intent.
Either Tribune come up with the exact words of Qureshi where he has stated what is mentioned in the article headline, or redact this story.
A very good example of very bad journalism.
What a classical U turn coming from PTI it will simply explain to supporter what they are aiming doing and saying ! At least don do this its against your Manifesto , Motto and campaign But Yes ! everything is possible in Politics and especially in PAK
Relax there is no quote in his statement about alliance with Mush...Tribune tends to show a clear bias towards PTI these days...
This tells us a lot about the PTI's strategy that's 'supposedly' aimed at bringing change in PK!
this is nonsense .. no other newspaper is giving this news. PTI has already denied such rumors.
DAMN I'm. a PTI supporter and I'm shocked !!!
Imran Khan!!!! please wake up!! it will be a political suicide to even give such a statement.
wow!!! so the Kings party is coming ...!!!
Wow already selling out IK? Why is PTI confirming the stereotypes liberals hold about it? Alot of us PTI supporters hate Musharraf, infact Musharraf is hated even more than Zardari for what he did to the country in the last 10 years and if PTI joins hands with APML, it is akin to Imran Khan shooting himself in the foot. IK opposes America's but is supporting the man who originally sold us to the US??? Bad Move IK, have some sense and back off from any such consideration.
wrong statement. arif alvi and pti clearly said no alliance with musharraf
What???????????? Imran Khan should not disappoint the people of Pakistan. This is what happens when you let people like Qureshi and Kasuri into a party like PTI. A few days back, Kasuri meets Musharaf in Dubai and now Qureshi gives this statement. Has Imran Khan also sold his soul to the West after gaining the trust of majority of the people of Pakistan? PTI highjacked?????????????????
If this is true, then it is a highly irresponsible statement from SMQ. He must be reigned in by PTI leadership or else he'll do a lot of damage to PTI's image in the public. IK and the Secretary General Dr. Arif Alvi have repeatedly ruled out any alliance with Musharraf at various times, including recently when some rumors of Khurshid Kasuri meeting Musharraf surfaced.

i as a supporter of PTI say YES to the political alliance of PTI with MUSHARRAF led APML...
Unfolding too soon! What will be of hope? Would PTI will be an IJI, 90 or 97 or bit better? Looks neither we learn from history nor we live in time. Where our national interest stems from? From our prejudice, arrogance and ignorance?
And may I ask ,why is Mr Shah M.Quraishi giving news of such important alliances all by himself...Has Imran been pushed aside already ...??
Any doubts why he was not made Prime Minister, and why he was removed from the Foreign Ministry.
for Pakistan it will be a good.
Politicians are going crazy to come in power by hook or by crook.
Too many cooks spoil the broth.
What Pakistan needs is a two party system as it does not need that every single Pakistani should establish one man political party.
We already have some registered political parties where there is a leader but behind the leader there is no "awam".?
What status quo they want to shake? Breaking the shackles of Establishment (Military and Judiciary)? Eliminate the role of Agencies in politics? No more state sponsorship of non-state actors? And all this will be done through Musharraf and Masood Sharif Khattak?
The day Imran held elections in PTI to elect its leader, Musharaf Baqiyaat who are now in majority in PTI, will elect Musharaf as their leader.
The mere fact that they are even considering this says a lot about PTI.
No principles, just retoric - and sanctimonious to the nth degree.
I'm sickened by the hypocrisy!
PTI may join hands with Musharraf if they want to commit a premature polical suicide
