Five people, including 3 policemen, injured in hand grenade attack

Unidentified men hurled grenade at police mobile passing from Sirat Chowk in Hub.

QUETTA: At least five people, including three policemen, were wounded in a hand grenade attack in Hub, industrial town of Balochistan, on Saturday night.

According to reports, a police mobile was passing from Sirat Chowk when unidentified armed men hurled a hand grenade at it. The grenade exploded with a huge blast injuring three policemen and two passersby.

The assailants escaped from the site after the attack.

Police and other law enforcement agencies rushed to the site soon after the blast and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. The injured policemen were identified as Sarwar, Shahid and Hameed.

No group has claimed responsibility for the grenade attack so far.
