Doctorate: PU to award PhD in geography after 35 years

Thesis tilted ‘Performance of Media in Creating Awareness about Population as an Economic Problem in Pakistan’.

The Punjab University (PU) will award its first PhD degree in Geography in the last 35 to Professor Munawar Sabir, who will receive a special mention at the varsity’s 120th convocation to be held on Saturday. 


Professor Sabir, who holds the post of assistant professor at the Geography Department, dedicated his thesis to Shafqatullah, a lab attendant, who helped prevent his thesis from being plagiarised.  Professor Sabir’s doctoral thesis is tilted ‘Performance of Media in Creating Awareness about Population as an Economic Problem in Pakistan’.
