PML-N will never support resumption of NATO supplies: Rana Sanaullah

Sanaullah says people will resist if the government tries to resume Nato suppies.

Abdul Manan December 28, 2011

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said on Wednesday that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) will never support the resumption of supplies to NATO forces stationed in Afghanistan, and would rather want it to be blocked permanently.

Speaking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly Sanaullah said that the people will resist if the government tries to resume Nato supplies.

Sanaullah also lashed out at President Asif Ali Zardari's public address on the death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Buksh and said that the president had “violated the sanctity of the constitution”.

The law minister said that President Zardari used “slang language” during his address and that he should not have taken the name of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

He added that if the president was so passionate in criticising the chief justice, he should have done so in an indirect manner.

NATO supplies would start when the army would need spare parts for F-16 and other US equipment. Or when the country would run out of foreign exchange. In any case the govt should not start it again. Let the generals make that decision so they cannot blame the elected govt. Gen Mush has made several seceret pacts with the US and the civilians get the blame. Let us brig the pacts out in the open.
