In Memoriam: Benazir’s death anniversary observed

MIRPUR: The fourth death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto was observed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK with due reverence on Tuesday. The PPP-led AJK government had declared Tuesday as a gazetted holiday across AJK to facilitate people. Speakers paid rich tributes to the former prime minister in special congregations for sacrificing her life to maintain national unity and solidarity and uphold democratic values in the country. She was remembered as a symbol of the federation and for promoting unity among provinces. Quran khwani was held in all major cities and towns across AJK. A delegation of top PPP activists led by Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed flew to her ancestral village and paid their respects at the Bhuttos’ mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Baksh. Participants pledged to continue Bhutto’s mission.
