Nutritional disorders: ‘90% people are vitamin D deficient’

KARACHI: About 90 per cent of the population suffers from vitamin D deficiency, said Prof. AG Billo, of  The Aga Khan University Hospital. This contributes to the development of diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia, depression and cancer, he said. He was talking at a seminar titled, “Prevalence of vitamin D deficiency” held at the Kharadar General Hospital.

Billo said that the supplements of vitamin D could also decrease the rate of abortion.
