Shoe Theft: 14-year-old sent on judicial remand

LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Monday sent a 14-year-old boy, arrested on suspicion of theft, on 14-day judicial remand. Muhammad Usman was handed over to the police on December 14 by some factory workers who said they had caught him on suspicion of stealing shoes from the factory’s storeroom. One of the workers said he had told police that he and his co-workers heard disturbance in the storeroom, followed by sound of foot steps on the roof. He said they rushed to the storeroom and discovered that shoes worth Rs80,000 were missing from there. They rushed to the roof to catch the thieves, and found Usman lying down. They said he appeared to be under the influence of some drug. On Monday a judicial magistrate in Model Town courts sent him on judicial remand.
