Additional Secretary (UN & EC) Ministry of Foreign Affairs Munawwar Saeed Bhatti represented Pakistan, while Joint Secretary (PAI) Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), YK Sinha headed the Indian delegation.
The secretaries also exchanged views regarding the exchange of prisoners and the increase of trade in Jammu and Kashmir.
Last week, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar expressed that Pakistan was committed to pursuing a constructive, sustained and result-oriented process of engagement with India, including on the issue of Kashmir.
Despite Pakistan’s troubled relations with the US and neighboring Afghanistan, the relationship with India has continued to show improvement. In November this year at the sidelines of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit in the Maldives, Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh pledged to open a ‘new chapter’ in otherwise fragile relations between Islamabad and New Delhi.

Brothers, Peace is our only hope for survival.
90,000 people died instantly when US dropped nukes on Japan, the death toll eventually rising to 500,000. And that was just two nukes, we have hundreds of nukes pointed at each other, the destructive power of which cannot be overstated. Take a good look at your parents, spouse, children, friends, your home, your city, because all of this can all be wiped out at the push of a button.
@Hu Jintao: That's the difference in being human and an animal. Ofcourse human beings are emotional.
@lionheart: you indians are so emotional
@CounterTerrorist:
Well You know it thats a lie, We are "people" who keeps your kind at bay and cause plenty plenty sleepless nights to you.
Good Luck hating. Tells what kinda person you are
Stop the mudslinging, all of you. India and Pakistan was born of the same womb. Live with that fact and see how you can live side by side... in peace.
Most of the people in India and Pakistan desires peace.It's quiet a few in both countries creating hatred.But the question is weather we can overcome that hatred they create?It's already been 64 years.Really will this conflict ever end?
@Someone: Ha ha ha u cracked A not so funny joke on media comparisons.
@Straight_Talk...calm down mate, I can assure you that everyone's fine the way they are and no body is running off to India. It's only the Pak politicians who believe all this MFN rubbish. Most ordinary Pakistanis think India is a pain and misfortune
@Shadman: stop trolling, we know Indian/other medias and are giving importance according to its standard, but its you who are taking all these kind of media reports from both sides as your reference. right?
The present condition of Pakistan ( both internally and internationally ) is such that it warrants a peaceful relationship with India. This is their strategic requirement.
In India opinion is divided. People like PM Manmohan singh believe that we should seek peace. My take is their number is very few. The other view which is overwhelmingly popular is we should not believe Pakistan and that sooner or later Pakistan will go back to its sponsoring of terrorism. The way i see things PM Manmohan Singh is wrong.
@Someone
So u're from Pakistan?
@rikky come on yaar......the whole world knows how your media reacts. Accept the truth. ask your own celebs or sportsmen.
@R S JOHAR:
You will be disappointed sir.
@goggi: Agree with your views. Hope more people across the border share the same sentiments as put across by you. Thanks and regards. R S Johar India

@Shadman: Is it so? Then why the people with BIG HEART are still rotting in a failed country?Just come out of your illusion shad,before it gets too late.you people are nothing.
Dear Readers : I am not from Mumbai and I dont agree with "lionheart". I share his reasons but I stop at punishing the culprits and not everyone.
untill you indians watch your indian media..you guys never change towards Pakistan. This is why i quote Musharraf statement that India is a big country with a small heart.
agreed with @lionheart that we will never be friends until Indian Media stop showing the negativity of Pakistan to their people. They cut the positive news and only show the negative one.....
2011: Pakistan and India hints at improving relation. 2014: Pakistan and India back to square one. 2018: Pakistan foreign minister travels to india. Excitement builds. ...
In other news, slums of mumbai and karachi continues to grow exponentially.
'Stranger than fiction'.
Peace is the only Way! Our Sub-continent yearns for another Asoka the Great!
Dear Readers....
