In a notification released by MQM, Hussain said in a statement that it would have been better had Khan presented his party’s manifesto in the rally rather than indulging himself in “politics of blame” and alleging that other parties are corrupt.
Hussain said that such a move was required in order to channelise positivity in the current political situation.
Khan held a rally in Karachi earlier on Sunday at the Quaid’s Mausoleum.
There was no official figure available as of the time of filing this report. PTI Sindh claimed that up to 450,000 people had attended, “given that the ground had a capacity of 250,000 and that the surrounding roads and the Mazar-e-Quaid ground itself was packed.” A police officer deputed at the rally said his personal estimate was 300,000 including the people on the roads and in the mausoleum.

@Farhan:Very poor Mr.faisal PML(N)is one of the post sincere and corrupt free party of Pakistan. And u r making its comparison with a terrorist party really very poor sir Faisal.
PTI is the only party that can handle Pakistan in this situation. Altaf Hussien is and will stay a corrupt leader no matter what he says or does. we all know the reality...If altaf was a real leader he would come to Pakistan and make a change. PTI all the way! Imran Khan, we are with you!
MQM is better than PML-N.
Shows maturity on part of MQM, MQM is an institution which grooms & promotes leaders from its ranks, unfortunately MQM has always been conspired against from becoming a nationwide entity. I bet MQM has got more sincere and hardworking leaders than any other party. Last but not least Karachi is and will always belong to MQM.
@Mrs Ahmed: I dont know since when was uttering few words in a regional language of this country become a divisive force?? ''I agree karachi belongs to MQM'' is the kind of mindset which needs to be changed.show atleast bit of tolerance which is absent even in your arguement.
@Tanzeel: I agree karachi belongs to MQM, in other words to people who gave sweat and blood and still continue to give their , best in most difficult situations , bravo MQM
@Z Khan: so , ethinic colour was exhibited why deny it , even if few words , and why are u dividing people in ethnicity , by saying "huge numbers of pashto speakers showed up"
A very good gesture on the part of MQM. Such gestures will certainly wash out the dirty image of MQM in certain quarters.
Karachi belongs to Pakistan. I am its inhabitant and i will vote PTI and so will my family.
Karachi is now Insaf's city... & correction @ET he didn't say " it would have been better" he said, it was better how Imran Khan presented his manifesto instead of playing the blame game..others should follow him..
@Qasim: What caused IK to remain tight lip on his london case on MQM.
@Anis khan: true no ethnic killing between 2002 to 2007 , pls let people remember that who were incharge , ofcourse not completely , no people can be controlled by outsiders , karachi should be ruled nay goverened by a karachiite , and problem is solved
@Anis khan: i am amazed what do you mean by no more ethicity , Altaaf Bhai , what does Mqm stands for muttahida , so where is ethnicity , if u allow me to say there was strong ethnic colour in jalsa yesterday , i was confused why did , Azam hoti spoke in pashto,
It was positive attitude from MQM's leader, as this is not something hidden that MQM is surely to win with huge margin from Karachi and Hyderabad in spite of the crowd PTI succeeded to gather. PTI is a real threat to the remaining couple of seats PPP had in Karachi, Imran Khan could form an alliance with MQM easily because apart from Altaf Hussain himself, most of the other members of MQM are not controversial.. I can finally smell some breeze of peace in my poor city of lights...
@Asim Malik: This is the spirit. It shows mqm is really a party of educated and broad minded people. Hadn't there been operation conspiracy against mqm, it would have accessed all over pakistan with it all positive image. Karachi is for every one. Just have a look over the period of 2002 to 2007. No problem for any ethnic community. We were all brothers but it was a conspiracy against Karachi to destablize it. Please own karachi and pakistan
It makes a positive and healthy environment. Keep it up Altaf bhai and please bring out such positive change all over in Pakistan. No more ethnicity.
@Tanzeel: MQM belongs to Karachi !!!
@Asim Malik: hahahahaa. you people just are in dreams. dude we are its inhabitants and are the supporters of MQM. the only party which can be called a true party.
MQM to back PTI partnership!
Karachiites are People of the Sea. They always greet Guests cordially and encourage those who do good work.
MQM support PTI rally otherwise there would be no jalsa in Karachi.. PTI and MQM has same ideology to some extent
I think what MQM did was the sensible thing! The coming election will prove what are the real ground realities!!!
But I must say, MQM has come a long way & has matured as a political party. Now it must concentrate on their image a bit across Pakistan & if they succeed, then they are in business!!!!
They should not take power for granted & work (across Pakistan) if elected back in power like they did during the 2002 - 2008 era (Karachi).
Perhaps the only party that congratulated PTI. That's the spirit! Although Karachi belongs to MQM.
Karachi is no more state of MQM.
MQM always positive!
This is called 'Barapan' besides that we all know MQM supported this rally ;)
