Sharif says he remains Hashmi’s well-wisher
Speaking to the media after addressing a rally in Lahore, Sharif said that he had spent a “good time” with Hashmi and that he had a relationship of respect with him.
“Whatever decision he [Hashmi] has taken must have been thought over, however, it would’ve been nice if he had properly said goodbye to us [PML-N],” Sharif said.
On judiciary
Earlier, while addressing students at the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, Sharif said that being a prime minister twice did not make him happy, but participating in the long march in order to free the judiciary gave him “a great deal of happiness.”
Sharif said that a country’s success depends on an independent judiciary. “I wore a heart on my sleeve and participated in the long march and freed the judiciary.”
He said that Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was “pushed away” and he “brought him to forefront.” He added that he will not let anyone “disintegrate the parliament.”
Don’t forget the dictators
The PML-N leader said the people should not “forget the scenes when Pakistan was being destroyed by the dictators.”
“This is the gift that the dictator-led government had left for us,” Sharif said in a satirical tone. “Hunger, poverty, depravity is the gift of the dictators.”
Sharif compared his government with the present one, and said, “We had laid a foundation of making Pakistan a successful country back in 1999. Back then, we were working on a programme named Vision 2010.” Sharif said his government spoke eye-to-eye with the world and “never begged” in front of them.

I was literally shedding tears when Javed Hashmi left the party. I myself was inclined towards JH and Shehbaz Sharif rather than NS. But very well said Mian Sahab, people should give him credit for that because unlike PPP who turned to the blame game when Shah Mehmood left the party, PML(N) did not resort to dirty politics and wished him well. Farewell Javed Hashmi with honour and respect.The sacrifice & incarceration of JH alone for PMLN is more than sacrifice of all PTI combined.
I think this should be an eye opener for Nawaz Sharif, a seasoned and loyal leader like Javed Hashmi quit from Muslim Leauge Nawaz, there are so many front line leaders in the ranks of PMLN who have greiviences with the top leadership and now Imran Khan realized them that the second line of defence being beefed up in the shape of Hamza Shahbaz and Marium Nawaz who will lead the PMLN in the future, thus where is the democracy in the party.
Therefore, I think a seasoned worker has all the right to think to choose his future line of action and he (Javed Hashmi) thinks that the party who has shown some guts to challange the foreign masters is only Imran Khan while we know (thanks to Wikileaks) that every leader wants to become PM with the help and assistance of USA and willing to do what ever their master wish them to do so.
Lets hope for the best for the people and our beloved Pakistan.

@nasim: get your facts right brother. Mr. Hashmi won on three seats in 2008 elections. Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan. Mian Sahib asked him to let go of the 2 seats in lahore and multan and keep the rawalpindi seat to avoid a zimni election against sheikh sahib. Hashmi sahib refused to let go of his original constituency seat i.e multan. So next time think before you open your mouth, get your facts in place and do not make a fool of yourself.

PML-N as usual playing good copes and bad copes. At one side one is taking soft stand against JH, on the other hand using likes of Rana Sanaullah to bad mouth.

What's the big deal?
Although JH miscalculated his moves and found himself in jail cell, still his sacrifices were rewarded by PML(N) and was given three tickets in general elections. His sacrifices does not qualify him to stab in the back of his party. Both PPP and PML(N) are in the government and in next election their performance will be tested. Anyone who leaves these two parties at this moment and joins expected winners is real Lota. Only Q Leaguers are not included in this category.
on contrary, PMLN itself was created by the establishment in 80s to take on ppp

@omar: Nawaz Sharif has shown us why exactly he deserves to remain in Pakistani politics. He is a decent and honorable person by wishing someone from his party well - even when he has a difference of opinion. This shows both maturity and decency. Something we in Muslim societies should learn about. We can all have different political opinions but still be working for a common goal which is betterment of the nation.
one thing I would like to ask Imran Khan?... He said he will bring change in this country.... How can you bring change by having same old faces in your parties which are in assemblies from the last 20-25 years?... Some PTI supporters said if the captain is good then everything will be good... What if the players start dropping catches how the captain would win the game?.... Same old faces but new party?... Are we getting the change which was brought by OBAMA?.... I'm sure no one from the youth will get tickets for the elections and I'm ready to bet on it... Same faces you will see but from the platform of PTI.... We need to change faces in order to bring change not just parties....

People have tried nawaz twice and both the times he failed to deliver to ameliorate the conditions of the masses. During his borth tenures, the only thing that developed and prospered is his industrial empire and personal properties. Besides his own palatial residences in raiwind and bhurban, Murree, he owns highly expensive properties in posh areas of london. Javed hashmi spent years in jail and kept nawaz league's standard aloft when its leader made a deal with general musharraf and left the country while javed hashmi was in jail. Javed hashmi didn't win on more than one seats because of nawaz league but it's the other way round. Nawaz league won because of javed hashmi. Nawaz has fielded his daughter mariam in the politics but why didn't he promote and field memoona hashmi in politics. It was great injustice to ignore his services and marginalise a person like javed hashmi.

Politicians are generally bunch of self serving conceits with some sort of power complex, does not matter which political party they join they can't help themselves. Having said that I think Shahbaz Sharif is among few better ones among the current lot.

Who is Mr Nawaz Sharif trying to fool.. he is no 'shair'. I would recommend everyone to watch the documentary made by BBC about how the Sharifs were involved in money laundering and how they managed to send that money to create an empire in London. Mr Sharif should give these answers to the people, should explain the trail, the source of income from which he has set up businesses in England and Saudi Arabia and god knows where else. Only when he gives these answers, would these claims carry any weight.
Mian sahab should not be too happy about freeing the judiciary. As he did nothing to stop the drone attacks.
Clearly shows his interests lie with the courts. and not the civillians.
@Asif Sheikh: Because of him freezing and converting the foreign currency accounts in to RS. I lost £20,000 and that was the money I saved and transferred to Pakistan for my sisters wedding. Because of mian saabs that foolishness no one wants to bring there money to Pak. It damaged the economy of Pakistan massively.
what i think is that only reason PTI is grabing all the big horses because the Nawaz league is not doing their part of the job. they are just waiting for some miracle happen in their favor. and that's not gonna happen

Are we talking about another deal here? The problem my friend is that in this case NS was 5 years too late. While his own deal materialized immediately, his friends were left behind languishing in jail.

Shahbaz Sharif is responsible for the destruction of PML-N. His tit-for-tat rally held in Lahore was the turning point for PTI. He owes an apology to the workers.
And Javed Hashmi is the BEST! He spent several years in jail, and has a clean slate (comparatively) and has always been a man of principles. People who know even a little about Pakistani politics will confirm the fact that his struggle for the support of democracy and against dictatorship in this country is unmatchabale. :) <3

A very interesting poll scene is developing in Pakistan. Imran Khan presently is the favourite horse and others also ran appears to be the likely scenario. But continuous accomodation of so many heavy-weights in his party should not the repeat the story of the Arab and his camel(s).
I think Hashmi has miscalculated not only the Muslim league but also the changing political system in Pakistan .

Joining of PTI by Javed Hashmi is like Muhammad Ali Jinnah's arrival to Pakistan from heaven.
Mr.Hashmi did a bad decision and deceive PML-N and his fans & Supporters . we are well-wisher of him.
On the contrary, PML-N will be soon be a history. This is a massive blow, and there are more to follow. The Sharif brothers had a good innings, thanks to General Zia ul Haq, but now it's time for them to hang up their boots.
Hashmi became MNA from Pindi and Lahore on the strength of PMLN. He lost election from his own constituency Multan. He deceived PMLN leadership.I agree that he will be history.

These people are of the opinion that Establishment is behind the PTI which is not the case.
Imran and his team has worked day and night during the last 15 years to bring PTI at the national level and in my personal opinion every one who is joining PTI is joing to sabotage PTI and nothing else.
Imran himself has said that there are no honest people in the country. It means that all the dishonest people after trying all political parties are joining PTI.
