Opinion pole: Electricity poles about to collapse

SARGODHA: The main electricity pole of a street in Faisal Town, Military Farm Road was installed in the middle of a main road. According to local residents, the electricity pole has proven to be a common traffic hazard after several cars collided into it and the pole has been seriously damaged. “The pole can collapse at any time and cause the death of several people,” said resident Fida Hussain. Several complaints have already been submitted to the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) but no action has been taken. “We have been complaining about this matter for over a year,” Fida added.
