Highway hold-ups: PHP books criminal, recovers stolen cattle

Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested a proclaimed offender and recovered stolen cattle in separate incidents

The Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested a proclaimed offender and recovered stolen cattle in separate incidents on Friday.


According to highway officials, during routine patrolling a PHP team in Kotla Adeeb Shaheed, Sahiwal apprehended a proclaimed offender Nawaz who is wanted for theft and murder. The PHP team handed him over to the local police for further action.

Another PHP team recovered two cows after a shootout and handed them over to the owner. Highway officers stopped two men walking along the road near Chak 432/GB with stolen cattle. PHP team tried to stop them but they opened fire. The team returned fire but the suspects left the cattle and fled the scene.

Another PHP team in Dhori Adda, Layyah, recovered stolen cattle worth Rs 40,000 on Friday evening from suspect identified as Mukhtiar Ahmed.
