QUETTA: Dozens of people staged a protest on Saryab Road on Wednesday morning against low gas pressure in Quetta. Angry protesters raised slogans against the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) for its failure to ensure adequate supply of natural gas to domestic consumers. According to protesters, gas supply to Haq Abad, Chaki Shawani, Kili Bangulzai, Lor Karez and adjoining areas remains suspended for the past 30 hours. “The SSGC carries out unwanted gas load-shedding whenever temperature drops to sub-zero Celsius in and around Quetta,” the protesters said. They advised gas companies to take action against those who they alleged were stealing natural gas and running factories in Central Punjab and to stop load shedding of gas in Balochistan.
