Development: Ministerial panel approves projects

AJK Cabinet Development Committeeapproved five development projects amounting to Rs14.5 billion in Muzaffarabad

MIRPUR: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Cabinet Development Committee chaired by Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed approved five development projects amounting to Rs14.5 billion in Muzaffarabad on Wednesday. In the power sector, two projects were approved. Nagdar hydropower project costing Rs7488.127 million will generate 35 MWs and Dawarian hydropower project costing Rs6236.96 million will generate 40 MWs. A project for payment of outstanding liabilities of Earthquake Additional Financing Project was approved for Rs109.786 million. To develop infrastructure for 52 forest nurseries, establish nursery plots and produce 21 million seedlings over five years, a project worth 394.722 million rupee has also been approved. Funds will also be provided to the AJK Community Development Project.
