Four bomb disposal vans and 100 motorbikes were donated by the United States to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) police on Wednesday. A spokesperson for the US Consulate said the equipment is being provided under the Police Assistance Programme implemented by the US Embassy’s Narcotics Affairs Section. US Consul General Marie Richards paid tribute to security forces in K-P at a ceremony held at police headquarters and praised their courage and dedication in fighting terrorism and crime in the province. The US has donated equipment worth $75 million to the police in K-P so far, which include police vehicles, armoured troop carriers, generators, solar panels, radios, binoculars, first aid supplies and other items.
