KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suffered almost Rs70.68 million loss daily due to delayed flights during January-September 2011, According to official sources. The national carrier was maintaining its domestic and international flights’ schedule with a fleet of 34 aircraft of which five were under scheduled maintenance. The operational fleet consists of nine Boeing 777, four Boeing737, nine Airbus 310, six ATRs and six Boeing 747s which are mostly used for Hajj, Umrah and charter operations. Besides, the Boeing 747s are used for supplementing scheduled flights, if an aircraft is taken out of operation for some maintenance work.
