LOS ANGELES: With reference to your editorial of July 24 titled ‘Democracy and the generals’, may I say that surely no one is dispensable. Why can’t we follow normal rules of business like all other law-abiding nations? Musharraf’s trusted lieutenant continues for another three years. People forget that General Kayani had a role in the NRO because, according to several press reports, he met Benazir Bhutto on behalf of the Musharraf government – and at that time he was the head of the ISI.
