MULTAN:

All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) on Sunday staged a demonstration in front of Multan Press Club to condemn the assassination of two young Christian brothers Rashid Emmanuel, 32, and his brother Sajid Masih.

The protesters were shouting slogans against the discriminatory laws and were demanding justice from the government. They vowed to continue their struggle against the discriminatory laws.

Police sources had earlier revealed that security agencies have arrested suspect Rana Maqbool for murdering the two Christian brothers.

Tony Khan | 14 years ago | Reply The protesters can go on shouting slogans till their throats become hoarse, they can go on demanding justice with all their might but nothing is going to change their plight. These discriminatory laws are aimed to discriminate against the minorities only. Nobody in this country really cares about their insecurities about their concerns and their miseries. Two Christian brothers are slain publicly before they get a trail. The media will pick up the story for a few days and some will condemn the act in these blogs. Some may actually make the effort to write a letter and if they are lucky their letter may also appear in one of the newspapers. Will this in any way help the family who has lost two precious young men, will it relieve the pain and agony of the parents of these two lads, will it prevent more innocent blood being shed? This country in not the country of the Quaid who shunned the observance of any kind of discrimination against minorities on the basis of religion thus offering them a fair deal. This country does not give it's minorities a fair deal. Tomorrow it will be another city another minority. . . .
