"The attack on Pakistan border check post on November 26, which killed 25 soldiers, was a grave incident," Pakistan's acting permanent representative to the UN Raza Bashir Tarar told the 15-nation council on Monday.
As a result of the attack, Tarar said that Pakistan had been constrained to absent itself from the Bonn Conference.
He said that when the federal cabinet had taken the decision, it had also expressed hope that the international community would reaffirm its support for peace and development. Tarar added that Pakistan had looked forward to the meeting's success.
“We want the international community to succeed in Afghanistan because this success is in Pakistan's national interest," said Tarar. He added that Pakistan was committed to restoring peace and stability in Afghanistan and the region.
“Pakistan looks forward to contributing, as effectively as possible, in an environment free from recrimination and blame-game, and based on the foundation of mutual respect and trust,” he said.
“Speculative statements made in a knee-jerk reaction vitiate the atmosphere and erode mutual trust,” he added. “Such blame-games must be stopped.”
The envoy went on to emphasize that Pakistan could not be held responsible for the problems and challenges afflicting Afghanistan.
He said that the international community, Pakistan and Afghanistan must work closely as responsible partners, in a cooperative manner, and not rush to judge or question each other's intentions.
"We are not preaching something that we do not practice,” he urged.
“Pakistan has never resorted to blame-game, even when militants crossed over from the other side and attacked our troops and innocent civilians,” he said.
Tarar said Pakistan valued the role of United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in coordinating a comprehensive international effort, and hoped that its mandate would enable UN to make more meaningful contributions to peace and development.

Shall I believe it was Osama bin Laden bin just because US said so? yeah right. What about the countless violations of USA over the last 60 years or so? There was no Pakistani incolved in the attack on 9/11 and slowly this war has been targeted towards Pakistan who was once termed as a critical ally in so-called-war-on-terror.
guys isi has always protected pakistans interests ..secondly americans are goin to lose the war coz of isi 4 sure ..first they broke soviet union into russia and now its gonna be UN-united states of america lol
@Hu Jintao:
His three wives living in the compound said, they were widows. What does that mean to you genius?
@Ejaz:
And so many people of PAK want to go to war with the US...........this makes it easy to understand why PAK is a failed state
@Raj - USA: How about commenting on the following news Mr. http://tribune.com.pk/story/309603/taliban-is-not-an-enemy-of-america-biden/
@Tehreek-e-Insaf FATA: @Cautious: Yeah, you are right !!!!!!!! Osama is not dead. Elvis is still alive. Post the photo or video of OBL if you dare. We shall ask Veena Malik to prove it is not OBL (as she proved that she did not pose topless).
@rehmat: You are right. If it were not OBL, then the ISI, Army and the govt are all lying by not refuting the US claim. If it were not OBL then it is a shame that all powerful ISI is in bed with the US, openly against Pakistan. If this is not treason then what is? Thanks and regards, Mirza
@guest: "I never saw a dead body of Bin Laden just the word of President of USA "
And the word of his widows who were held by ISI for months altogether. If it had not been Bin Laden, would ISI/army not have spoken to remove this blot from Pakistan?
@Any: @bangash: @MarkH: Just like the violation of UN through the Presentation of Colin Powell in UN for Mobile Chemical Laboratries and WMD in IRAQ as a pre-text for Iraq WAR.
As for me, your comments are not worthy enough when they are narrow minded and one sided. too bad so sad :)
OBL happily took credit for 9/11 and the hijackers belonged to this organization. Denial will not change fact that Osama responsible for 9/11 and hiding in Abbottabad.
How come Pakistan never complained to SC about US drones flying in and out for so many years except making a few noises ?
@A2Z: Long live Humanity and people like Hu Jin Tao and you.
@FactCheck:
It isn't just that U.N. member states are authorized to go after terrorists. The post-9/11 Security Council resolutions made it a sovereign obligation to do so on a member's own territory. Thus, if Pakistan doesn't pursue terrorists within its borders its complaint of sovereignty violations has no support when others do so.
@Hu Jintao: Bravo Bro.
@Hu Jintao: Well said @Cautious: Please read Hu Jintao's comments; this will tell you whether I live in the caver or you have hidden your head in the sad, the cliche of Ostrich crops up in mind.
Pakistan is trying to clean its border, what about NATO who is keeping blind eye on drugs cultivated by current friends of Karzai (not to forget his brother was one of the biggest drug cultivator and smuglar). go and get your facts right
@FactCheck: Another fastCheck; the US has killed over 10 Millions people since 1945 starting from bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki. What's about this state terrorism, any fastCheck on this??
@Cynic, Hu Jintao
OBL’s 3 wives and 14 children are in Pakistan’s custody. Alqeda admits he is dead, ISI/GHQ says he is dead, US says he is dead, Taliban say he is dead. Come out the state of denial.
But why has it taken Pakistan around 30 days to take up this issue with UN Security Council?
Makes one wonder.............
@Cautious So far the only proof is "it's true because we said so". There is not any single legitimate proof. @topic UN never punished attackers of Freedom Flotilla, which was clear violation of UN charter. I still can't comprehend why Pakistan is looking towards UN. It's merely an extended council to protect, project and implement American interests.
@Cautious: quite alot of people live in the cave then including American scientists and engineers who studied indepth unlike enlightened fellas who just believe what they are told. funny isn't it How about you look into this.
www.ae911truth.org
“Pakistan has never resorted to blame-game, even when militants crossed over from the other side and attacked our troops and innocent civilians,” he said. . I hope he kept straight face when he said that -- no doubt the other people in he room rolled their eyes.
@Ejaz -- to say that there is no evidence that OBL was associated with 911 makes me wonder whether you have been living in a cave.
Hiding OBL and aiding and abetting known terrorists is crime against humanity according UN resolution and UNSEC has authorized to go after terrorists. Every UN member is required to root out terrorism from its territory. Has Pakistan it yet?
Someone plz prove that it WAS in fact OBL..
@Any: I am no sympathiser of Bin Laden but in all earnestly, there is no concrete proof that a man in Afghani cave orchastrated the terrible incident of 9/11. Furthermore, OBL was never tried in any court of law and extra judicial murder is not allowed by the virtue of International Law anyway. You speak of hiding Bin Laden a viloation of UNSC, even I agree to your notion, this is one violation of UNSC; what's about hundreds and thousands of US vilations committed by the US? Would you raise a finger on them?
No, it wasn't. People apparently forget that when something like this is brought up they require evidence to care. So far the only thing you've got is "it's true because we said so." Same goes for your sovereignty. You say it's there, but there is no indication of its existence beyond that.
Hiding bin laden is not violation of UNSC???
