Waseela-e-haq scheme: BISP distributes Rs0.15m cheques

Each beneficiary family receives Rs0.30 million in two installments as loan without any interest.

Cheques worth Rs0.15 million each were distributed on Monday among over 400 families in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) under the Waseela-e-Haq scheme of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).



Under this programme, each beneficiary family is provided Rs0.30 million in two installments as loan without any interest to start a business. This principle amount is payable in easy installments in a 15-year timeframe. According to the media office, the cheques were distributed by BISP chairperson Farzana Raja during a ceremony at the Governor House in Peshawar.

She was accompanied by K-P Governor Barrister Masood Kauser while K-P Minister Rahimdad, FATA’s parliamentary leader Munir Ahmed Orakzai and members of the provincial assembly were also present on the occasion. Among the beneficiaries, 70 families received the second installment of Rs0.15 million while another 330 families were given the first installment.
