
A series of papers and tutorials will be given by researchers, scientists, technologists, and academicians who will share the latest trends in the industry. The conference will particularly focus on the energy sector with a tutorial session also scheduled in December, said a press release.
Dr Raziq Yaqub of Tennessee University, US, who is an inventor in the field of wireless communication smart grid technologies, will speak on applications for existing power grids for energy efficiencies in Pakistan.
Indeed, energy is a concern, said the chancellor of SSUET, Z A Nizami, on Saturday. Pakistan’s current demand for electricity is about 25,000 megwatts a day, but we are producing less than 20,000MW.
Demand is expected to rise to 30,000MW a day by 2015. To make matters worse, a growing power tariff has affected manufacturing. press release
