‘Complete harmony between Sharif brothers’

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz (PML-N) has strongly contradicted a news item published in a national daily which says that differences exist between Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif, the chief minister of Punjab.

“The so-called sources mentioned in the news item do not exist and the incidents referred to by the reporter while concocting the story have no reality,” a spokesperson for the PML-N said on Saturday.

Some circles during the Musharraf era had also tried to spread such stories but time has shown how baseless these were, according to the spokesperson.

“There is exemplary harmony of thinking and approach on all political and national issues between Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif,” he added.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the commissioner Lahore division also contradicted the news item appearing in a national daily in which it was stated that the Lahore commissioner had transferred a revenue officer on the orders of federal lawmaker Capt (retd) Safdar but on the intervention of Hamza Shahbaz the transfer was cancelled. Transfers in Lahore division are not made on the basis of administrative needs, he said, questioning the authenticity of the report.
