Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has sought updates on security arrangements in Islamabad while keeping his options open for an appearance at the upcoming Benazir Bhutto International Boxing Championship, according to the Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF).
PBF secretary Akram Khan said that the federation had dispatched a letter from the foreign ministry accordingly. “The letter ensures the provision of top-level security for Tyson,” said Khan, before adding that the PBF was expecting the boxer’s reply by Tuesday. However, he ruled out Tyson’s participation in the event’s opening ceremony, which will be held on December 22.
