Malik had gone missing two days ago on December 16 after returning from a film shoot in Mumbai. Her manager Pratik Mehta confirmed the news and said that all her cell phones were turned off.
Earlier on Sunday, reports emerged in the Indian media saying that Malik has secretly arrived in Pakistan after going missing from her house in Mumbai. The report said that Malik arrived in Lahore through Wagah border wearing a 'burqa'. Indian actor Ashmit Patel, who is also Malik’s friend, had come to drop her.
Indian journalist Sameena Razzaq Shaikh told Express News that the rumours of Malik's visa expiring were untrue. "She is in India on a triple-visa and her visa is valid till December 24," she added.
Shaikh also said that it was clearly a publicity stunt by the actress.
The authorities at Wagah border also denied the reports of Malik arriving in Pakistan. They said that the immigration process is usually not done on Sundays, unless it is a special case.
Malik's family in Islamabad said that they have no information about Malik's whereabouts.
The Indian press had claimed that Malik’s visa was due to expire on December 16 and she was advised to stay into hiding till its extension and has, therefore, gone missing. However, Malik’s Spokesperson Sohail Rashid had denied the claims and said that her visa was valid for a couple of months.
Malik received vast criticism from the Pakistani community after being recently involved in a nude photoshoot for an Indian magazine FHM.
Earlier in an interview to BBC, Malik conceded to doing a ‘topless’ shoot, but not ‘nude’. She filed a suit against FHM India, claiming damages worth Rs100 million. FHM India has counter sued Malik for Rs250million over the controversial magazine cover that hit the stands in early December.

Veena Malik is the best thing to happen in Pakistan , Veena Malik Zindabad
@Ayesha:
Its not mandatory to reply to everyone! :P
Why media is promoting and showing Veena Malik and yellow journalism in the society on large scale to a great degree and wasting time on this triviality and useless news? Now leave her.
She really doesn't deserve attention she has been getting.
Why this Veena playing hide and seek, hide and seek ji?
Veena meena dika... kya drama kitta ?? ooo run run hide -e- run run hide..... !
@Pakistani hindu
Who cares?
A. Why bother to read, if you don't?
B. More importantly, Why take the trouble of posting, if you don't?
Pardon me, Your Freudian Slip is showing.
@zaid hamid: "As always Indians were lying"
It is Veena who was lying. By switching her cellphone off she created the impression that she has been kidnapped when in fact she had checked into a hotel. Concerned Indian colleagues even lodged a police complaint due to her deception.
@Parvez: "This girl has to be made of strong stuff. She’s made a name for herself in the world’s largest cinema industry city."
Just fyi. She has not been taken as the heroine of even one low budged Hindi movie. She has just obtained bit parts in 2 really low budget movies with lesser known actors.
@Mohammad Ai Siddiqui: "Probably she would have been taken into custody by one of the Indian law enforcement agencies after her visa was expired to remain in India. The government of Pakistan should take up the matter with the Indian government to know about her whereabouts and her welfare."
Did you even read the article. It says this was a publicity stunt by Veena and she had checked into a Mumbai hotel. Such publicity stunts where a police complaint is falsely lodged are a problem. If next time something actually happens to her, no -one will bother. It is like the boy who cried wolf.
@kazamazeem: "this is the result “Excessive Westernisation ” . "
Nothing to do with Westernisation. It is not comon in the Western countries to pretend to disappear and have people lodge a police complaint on one's behalf while one is actually living in a hotel.
She does not realize but such publicity stunts are harmful since no producer has the bandwidth to put up with constant drama about whether the actors will show up or not on the shot the next day. She has obtained bit parts in 2 low budget movies I would be very surprised if she gets any more offers after how she has been conducting herself.
There is more to life than Veena Malik.
We have recently experienced the abduction of Shahbaz Taseer and nobody is interested anymore, whether he is dead or alive!
On August 2, 2011, a female Art Curator and other female guests were brutally beaten by Pakistani Police in Lahore for "Indecent Behavior" and booked under an obsolete ordinance!
Pyari Veena two things count in life: sound health and Freedom of Thoughts, Words and Actions! Only a fool would risk them?
Please DON`T travel back, because the physical violence, especially towards women, has reached horrifying dimensions in Pakistan!
Good news that she is safe and sound. Veena appears to be quite innocent and immature not to understand that being topless tantamounts to nudity. Hope she finds a good husband to guide her and she lives happily theirafter.
As always Indians were lying
@Parvez: if baring it all is making a name and way to move forward then I think we will see caveman days soon.....cotton industry will collapse...!!!!
Veena tried to kill two birds with one stone, with nudity (although going topless is not nudity as per her) she created an up roar in Pakistan and with ISI tat she poked at the Indians. She is the "Rakhi Sawant" of Pakistan. Even Rakhi is more truthful than Veena.
By the way since she is so happy being in India, having a boyfriend there doing all kinds of mess and giving Pakistan a bad name why doesn't the Government of Pakistan cancel her citizenship and let her be in India. Everybody will be happy.
This girl has to be made of strong stuff. She's made a name for herself in the world's largest cinema industry city. My guess is now she has her eyes set on Hollywood. Way to go !!
Bravo. She is now a good muslimah and is wearing a burqa. Well done, Veena!!!
Veena Malik has not arrived in Pakistan. Probably she would have been taken into custody by one of the Indian law enforcement agencies after her visa was expired to remain in India.
The government of Pakistan should take up the matter with the Indian government to know about her whereabouts and her welfare.
this is the result "Excessive Westernisation " . We shold adopt westernisation where it is necessary , ie Science and Technology but not nudity.
like I said ' Another Publicity Stunt ' Listen people stop criticizing us saying that let her do what ever she wants... it's not us it is the lady herself who wants some attention! Why would she not inform her manager before leaving and why would she not respond to his calls? why would someone file a police complaint and then certainly media would put this on front page considering her recent cheap shot.... Total fraud!
Who cares?
Welcome home..
