Fahmida Bakhsh was attacked at her house, case registered against unknown assailants, investigation is underway.

Former PML-N councilor shot dead in Turbat

TURBAT: A former female councilor of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was shot dead by unknown assailants in Sengani Sar area of Turbat on Saturday.

According to the police, a group of men armed with sophisticated weapons barged into Fahmida Qadir Bakhsh’s house and opened fire at her, killing her instantly.

Police rushed to her house soon after the incident but the attackers had managed to escape from the scene.

Bakhsh’s body was shifted to the Civil hospital Turbat for autopsy.

According to doctors, she received multiple bullet wounds on her upper torso which caused her instant death.

Talking to The Express Tribune about the motive behind the murder, a senior police officer said, “It would be premature to comment over the murder since investigations are underway. She was alone at her house in the morning when armed men shot her dead.”

He added that security had been beefed up across Turbat after the murder.

A case had been registered against the unknown assailants and an investigation is underway.

Earlier a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Gwadar Dr Naseem Baloch was shot dead by unknown assailants in Pasni, Balochistan on Friday.

According to an official in Pasni, Dr Naseem, CMO of the district headquarters hospital in Gwadar was at his clinic in Pasni bazaar when two armed men barged into the clinic and opened fire on him, killing him instantly.

The attackers had managed to escape on a motor bike. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Pasni.

Another sad day for balochistan. Sadly, just like other incidents, no one will ever be convicted or brought to justice for this.
