Hockey: Railways, WAPDA romp to big wins

Both Railways and Wapda have now recorded seven wins to sit top of the standings

LAHORE: The goal-fest continued on day seven of the 27th National Women’s Hockey Championship as Railways hammered Punjab Whites 29-0. Maria Sabir scored 14 goals. High-flyers Wapda also strolled to a 6-0 win over HEC. Both Railways and Wapda have now recorded seven wins to sit top of the standings, with Railways boasting a superior goal-difference of +98 to Wapda’s +95. The two teams face off in a mouth-watering clash today. Meanwhile, in yesterday’s remaining games, Sindh Whites defeated Balochistan 3-0, Sindh Colours beat Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 4-0 and Army edged out Punjab Colours 1-0.
